UCMT Academic Open Day always adheres to the principle of "theory and practice in parallel", and is committed to creating an academic atmosphere of "brainstorming and collision of ideas" for guests and students. Now let's take a look back at the feast.

1.UCMT Academic Commons

UCMT Collaborative Education has been adhering to the service concept of "everything is student-centered", and is committed to providing academic services for students, coaching students to complete the thesis writing independently, obtaining the doctoral degree, helping them to transform their thoughts from practice to theory, from the East to the world, realizing academic thinking and achieving enterprise thinkers.

obtaining the doctoral degree, helping them to transform their thoughts from practice to theory, from the East to the world, realizing academic thinking and achieving enterprise thinkers.

UCMT specially invites academic professors and industry professors to explain professional knowledge to students.

Dr. Liu shared the knowledge

First of all, Dr. Liu Shi, professor of industry at UCMT, shared some experiences, and feelings about his paper "Research on Organizational Efficiency of Automobile Manufacturing Industry under Intelligent Manufacturing".

Dr. Liu Shi mainly shared the research background, research methods, literature review, research results and other aspects.

In terms of research methods, Dr. Liu used three major methods: questionnaire survey, literature reference study and case empirical study. Dr. Liu conducted investigation, analysis and research on 5 automobile manufacturing companies in the industry, and obtained 785 surveys. Through comparative analysis of the cases, he knew the key variables to improve organizational efficiency.

When it comes to the method of literature study, Dr Liu highly recommended reference method to beginners, however, when we performed literature research, we would be exposed to a large number of literature, at this point we have to learn to tell the difference between "the bright moon and the gravel," i.e., take the essence and discard the dregs, to the dregs, this is very important. If the paper is mixed with one or two misleading literature, it is likely to cause a great impact on their academic research.

2. The UCMT PhD Research Seminar

supervisors, Tian Tuan. The real teaching and learning has been realized.

Wu Shulin students share

Wu Shulin elaborated her paper "Research on the Business Ecosystem of Small and medium-sized real Estate Enterprises under the background of rural Revitalization" from the aspects of research background, purpose, research methods and so on.

According to Wu, most of the articles on rural revitalization start from agriculture and tourism, and there are few studies on the development model of "agriculture +" rural industry, so we want to do research in this aspect.

When it comes to contributions, she said, we take each stakeholder in the tourism destination as the breakthrough point, we take each stakeholder in the tourism destination as the breakthrough point.

"This paper adopted the grounded theory, followed the procedural steps of the grounded theory, conducted questionnaires and interviews of all stakeholders, sorted out the interview results, formed the article code, and finally formed the will of all stakeholders, including their influencing factors, and established my research model.""Replied Ms. Wu.

For wu the papers of the classmate, mentor and industry made corresponding professors give affirmation after review.

Professor Gu Qingliang: "This is a good topic, and the research questions are clear. In terms of rural revitalization, or developing new tourism, that's what we're going to do."

"But there are some things that can be improved. The first is to be careful not to use overly political language to express or support ideas when writing a village plan or a tourism proposal. The second point is that there is no need to use grounded theory in the research method. Grounded theory is actually a kind of post-positivism. It is falsified, that is to say, it actually does not admit those existing theories. And finally, I think there might be a little bit more to the logic."

Professor JIA Lijun: "We do papers, and generally there are two methods, namely quantitative research and qualitative research. The case study done by Wu Shulin is qualitative research. The qualitative research in the West comes from the fact that its quantitative research has come to an end. The qualitative research in the real sense is actually done by the Chinese, who have had qualitative research since the beginning of their civilization. Therefore, I suggest that Wu should fully learn from the Western paradigm of qualitative research, but at the same time grasp the idea of qualitative research in traditional Chinese culture and apply it to his own research and practice guidance. In this way, the paper is not only a regular DBA paper, but also has its own academic innovation; Not just talking about it, but putting it into practice."

Dr. Liu said, First of all, we need to ask questions, because most of the time the professor's comments and courses are academic, so we should ask the teacher more, or seek help from classmates. Secondly, when building the framework of the paper, we can find each interested party from the literature; Finally, the case study can start from the case study the French countryside without the grounded theory, because the tutor of the French side may not be very interested in the case, but more interested in the logic behind it.

Dr. Cui Zhe: "Rural revitalization is a very big policy factor, and the policy is also a very big variable. We can refer to this variable from home and abroad. I think Wu can further study the paper based on the theoretical basis and research methods of variables, and discuss it in academic aspects, and finally find a fundamental point for the development of commercial real estate for small and medium-sized enterprises, which is also a point for continuous improvement in the future development."

Liu Binghua classmates to share

After Wu finished her presentation and received comments, Liu Binghua also introduced her paper "Management by Objectives and Research on the Influencing Mechanism of Non-Profit Organization Performance" from five aspects.

Liu said that society is usually divided into three sectors: government, business and non-profit. Non-profit organizations are those that serve the public without the purpose of making profits. Compared with the commercial sector, non-profit organizations face greater challenges in their sustainability due to resource constraints. Therefore, nonprofits need to be more cost-effective and productive than commercial organizations.

Based on her own industry and the above realistic background, she determined the research topic of her paper. In this paper, she adopted the performance evaluation model of non-profit organizations, namely the 3E model with economy, efficiency and effectiveness as the core, as the theoretical basis, and designed the research methods such as questionnaire survey and case analysis.

Combined with data analysis, research results and case studies, Liu put forward the following application suggestions for the management by objectives of non-profit organizations in the paper:

1. Formulate a clear mission, vision and values

2. Pay attention to the use of management by objectives

After summarizing the research results, Liu also summarized the prospects and limitations of the research. After listening to Liu's sharing, the tutors and industry professors made professional comments and suggestions on Liu's research.

Professor Gu said, first, Liu took too long to introduce her research, and such a long time would not be feasible in the defense. Because it's not just a matter of time, the respondent should actually be very clear about the nature of his or her research. As a doctoral student, don't feel that you should know everything about the theory, and then pile many theories in the thesis, this is a mistake, must be avoided. Second, many students take literature review as a research method in their papers, which is actually wrong.

In addition, Professor Gu added, "In the existing data, you (Liu) can make some more summaries. For example, the different management models by objectives in different organizations, or the past management model by objectives, the current management model by objectives, and the changes in their methods and tools, etc., are filled into the paper, which is some contribution."

Professor Jia believes that there is management by objectives in any kind of organization, whether it is a public welfare organization or a commercial one. What Liu wants to express is that the connotation of management by objectives is different between non-profit organizations and commercial organizations. On this basis, it is suggested that Liu change the title to "Specific Research or Difference Research on objective Management of public welfare Organizations". If the original title is used, errors may be caused and the performance of the defense will be affected.

Dr. Liu said that Liu should pay attention to the angle outside his own research perspective, such as the point of concern of Professor France.

Dr. Cui believes that Liu has consulted a great deal of literature, which is of great help to the writing of the paper. In the title of the paper, it should be focused again, including the education-related points mentioned in the paper, which can be further refined and focused.

After listening to the stories of the two students, the tutors gave professional suggestions and solutions for the two students' papers, and had a profound academic exchange, which fully helped each student and guided them to complete the thesis successfully.

As a really high-level seminar, this activity was not subject to the inconvenience caused by online communication. The invited guests and the two students had in-depth academic exchanges on academic and industrial levels. The thinking collision jumped out of the screen during the discussion, and the thinking enlightenment was brought to the students as much as possible.

UCMT Academic Open Day will be a series of activities, based on practicality and companionship, and relying on the strong academic advantages of UCMT collaborative education, professors, academic coaches and industrial professors will help students complete their research projects and write papers.

At the same time, as PhD alumni, industry professors can also teach and learn from each other in this process, and get the personal guidance of expert doctoral tutors, their practice and research level will continue to improve and make progress, and become real enterprise thinkers!
